Rock Mommy interviews Heather!!!

Heather was recently interviewed for the blog Rock Mommy about our new album Thumb Wrestling Champions, and what it is like to be a rocking' mom! Here's a portion of the interview:

Rockmommy: I read a bit about how you and your brother got started — can you tell me about how your latest collection of songs came about? Was there an inspiring idea/theme?

Heather Hirshfield: Our new album “Thumb Wrestling Champions” is the end result after many, many years of work. We were just writing different fun songs over the years, until we realized we had enough for an album! There is no overarching theme, but many of the songs were inspired by my girls, either through stories that I told them when they were little, or by something that they may have said.

Thank You, My Crafty Zoo!!

Thank you to My Crafty Zoo for this fun review of our new album........

"I sit here to review this disc, completely alone with no children. This should be interesting. The title song opens up with a fun 80’s technology beat and gets your head moving whether you want it to or not. It’s super fun to listen to, silly as can be and even makes me laugh without having any little ones being silly! There’s definitely some 80’s vibe going on, along with a bug ballad (that you’ll really want to listen to, I swear), and even the much needed As Seen On TV type commercial with a little diddy! I am for real loving this disc and can’t wait to share it with my niece! The lyrics are absolutely silly!"

JP's Music Blog reviews Thumb Wrestling Champions

An amazing review of our upcoming album "THUMB WRESTLING CHAMPIONS" by JP's Music Blog"!

**The brother and sister duo of Eddie RosenBerg III and Heather Hirshfield are preparing to release their new album in September as The Green Orbs. The new release titled "Thumb Wrestling Champions" will become available on September 7th, and features 14-tracks that are all about having a good time. The album begins with the eighties, Devo-like delivery of the title song as they sing about what it takes to become the "Thumb Wrestling Champion." They slow the tempo down for the gentle, acoustic folk tale of "Doug The Bug," before delivering a commercial for "Monster Spray," which also pops up a couple more times on this new release. The Green Orbs continue with the story of "Ruby The Tooth Fairy," before closing their new album with the addictive waltz of "Robert Broccoli" and their mellow rock tribute to "Soup."**

Another great review!!!

Another great review!! Thank you Lee Littlewood of Creators Syndicate!!

"Thumb Wrestling Champions" by the Green Orbs.

The debut album from a brother and sister who clearly relish the wacky, "Thumb Wrestling Champions" hits the ground running with absurdity, about a contest broken up by Abraham Lincoln. Dance number "The Suction Cup Shuffle" has a blazing melodic lead; and jazzy "Tips from Toby the Turtle" is a groovy advice column. Other uber-cool, funky fun tunes include the witty "Flower in My Shower," "Robert Broccoli," done up as a goofy waltz, and "Twelve Steps to Eating Your Veggies," a tongue-in-cheek tune all kids can relate to. Super Cool!
